Long-tailed Tit is The European and Asian Aegithalos caudatus is a beautiful bird with a long tail. Pink and white with black wings and a black tail with white feather edging, the body is pink and white. It only weighs about 2 oz (6–8 grammes) yet has a 34-inch tail (9 cm). Long-tailed tits normally travel in groups of six to ten. They eat insects from the thin outer twigs of trees and tall plants, and they frequently congregate with other tits in mixed groups.

The long-tailed tits construct a complicated and spectacular domed nest that is braided between the branches of a gorse bush or bramble clump, or built into the fork of a tree high off the ground, though it is not hanging. The nest is primarily constructed of feathers and moss, which are braided together with cobwebs; a single nest has around 2,000 feathers. The outside is generally covered in lichens to hide it. The fragile structure is used to lay eight to twelve eggs, and as the young get larger, the nest grows to accommodate them all and bulges as they move.

The roosting behaviour of this species is very noteworthy. Each party forms a little ball and roosts together. They fly onto a small branch at dusk and cluster together, tails outwards.
